Twice a year, we inspect your compressed air system: reciprocating, rotary screw and scroll compressors, tank-mounted units, and refrigerated and desiccant dryers.

Compressor checklist

• Clean the intake filter and external parts
• Change the oil and oil filter, clean the strainer, and inspect valves and heads for carbon
• Check fastener tightness
• Check belt tension and sheave/pulley wear; replace belts annually
• Lubricate motor bearings
• Check electrical connections and motor voltage/amperage
• Test operating safety controls
• Check for abnormal noise and vibration
• Pump test
• Check the unloader
• Check for air leaks at the compressor and dryer
• Check the blow-down valve
• Check the solenoid isolation device
• Recommend repairs that improve efficiency

Dryer checklist

• Check dryer operation
• Clean the drain valve
• Clean the condenser and check the condenser fan
• Check the blow-down
• Check the refrigeration circuit for signs of oil
• Check the sight glass for moisture

Safety and records

Any unit that fails a safety, leak or electrical check is removed from service until it is repaired. You get a written inspection record from Blue Wave at every visit.
